rotary drum dryer

 Introduction of Rotary Drum Dryer:

A rotary dryer is a machine often used to dry the raw materials with high moisture content, lower their moisture content to proper levels for pelletizing.
It is an indispensable equipment in the biomass pellet plant. Because most materials for pelletizing have a rather high moisture content, especially the sawdust and wood, usually contain 12% to 18% moisture in them. The pellets produced from materials with such moisture content will be easily shattered, this is why we will need a rotary drum dryer to reduce their moisture content so the pellets produced from them will possess high quality. A rotary drum dryer consists a shell, a lifting flight, a drive assembly, a support system and a seal.

Features of Rotary Drum Dryer:

  • Dryer models can use single drum, bi-layer drum and triple layer drum.
  • Well designed structure, easy to operate and repair.
  • Economic. Low maintenance fee and low energy consumption.
  • Durable parts, long service time ensured.

Regulated by the rationed feeder (equipped with variable frequency motor), fuel in the bunker will be transported into the airheater via chain conveyer to produce dry and hot airflow which will then be introduced into the drying drum by the draught fan. The high moisture content feedstock delivered by the belt conveyer will fall into the air lock feeder. Due to the feeder rotation, raw material will flow back to the gyrating drum and mixed with the hot air by shoveling plates so that the material will finally be dried effectively. Thanks to the dip angle of shoveling plate coinciding with the direct flow of the hot air, the material can meet hot air and smoothly flow to the discharge end. The majority of steam can be exhausted out of the chimney at last. Also with the work of fan, dried material will move on to the bottom of the cyclone and be discharged. The dryer features continuous work on feeding and discharging. Wasting gas will enter the pipes and be emitted from the chimney by the fan.
